iPad in the latest Gadgets and Gizmos

No big surprise when you see a technology book that mentions the iPad. This one is known for presenting facts on our many options so it was fun to see our fav make the list.

The author, Jason Griffey, is the Head of Library Information Technology at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. His latest book, Gadgets and Gizmos: Personal Electronics and the Library (Library Technology Reports), outlines devices a library may use and a few particulars about the cost of use. We found much of the info pretty handy when talking to clients about starting to use iPads in their workspace. What appears to some companies and libraries as great new inexpensive options, many times turn out to be expensive to maintain going forward.

Gadgets and Gizmos proved handy at giving us the heads up about a few items we either didn’t know about or had been short lived flops. You just never know when someone will ask in a meeting about a ‘hot’ technology they are pushing for… best to have the answers handy. The links above are for the Kindle reader version of the book, which is searchable right in the meeting. Because your using an iPad.
